The topic we're going to discuss today is little known ways to run Amazon ads that win. Now when you're first getting started with your ads, it can be a little bit tricky.
Often, many writers and authors, we first got your book onto Amazon. You're having difficulty in the beginning because you see you're just not getting the sales you want. And you've heard that ads can be very effective but they're so confusing.
When we log into Amazon, we see that there's a whole series of things we're going to need to fill out if we're going to get our ads to work. That is what we are going to discuss in today's article.
I can tell you after running a hundred million impressions where my ads have been shown to people, it's something that I've started to get the hang of and begin to understand. I'm continually taking information all the time.

To make sure you are not skipping any of the steps necessary to get your books onto the market and sell. When I first got started, I took a 30 course on how to get started with Amazon ads.
It was incredibly cheap and I thought do I even know if this will work for me? How much of a budget do I even have for running ads? These were some things that I was dealing with at that time.
I was trying to figure out what exactly was going to be the right option for me when it came to running my ads. So I decided why not just take the course? So I took the course and it made a difference. I was completely shocked to see how well ads worked and started to see my sales jump.
Keep in mind the person teaching the course didn't even give that much information and it was really a poorly designed course. It just got me past the hump of what does it take to get your book in there registered and have the ads running against it.
How To Expand Your Ads
The other thing was I took an additional course later that showed me how to use a much more powerful tool called Publisher Rocket. I use the tool to make sure that the keywords that I'm choosing for my ads are absolutely fantastic. And are going to deliver for what my book is about.
To make sure it gets in front of the eyes of the people who are going to be most likely to buy. But also in terms of the bidding process that happens with these ads. That I'm going to win over my competitors because I will find the keywords that they aren't.
The other thing that this course taught me a little bit was how to expand my ads into other countries particularly the UK. Where I started making a lot of sales and continue to do for my books and I saw that sales continued to jump. Since that point, the rules changed and they allowed physical products to start competing with books.
Causing the bidding prices to go up for the most profitable Adwords that we would be using to try to drive traffic to our books. As the competition grew, it became a key part of my business. Because the traffic continued to come in and I was continuing to make sales to this very day.
When I go into my ads' platform, I'm able to see all of the sales that are coming in as a result of those ads daily. Since that point, as I mentioned I've run 100 million ads that's impressions they call it in the ad speak. 100 million ads have been shown to people for my books in the past 5 years.
It's been worth every penny of it as you're paying thousands of dollars a month in ads. To make sure that you can drive as many sales as possible. But what exactly do we do?
There are some little known ways to run amazon ads that win and I'm going to teach you some of them here. The first thing is we just need to get anything out there. It's similar to what I say with the books.
We're not saying throwing garbage on the market but just getting our foot into the water. So we're actually getting ready to swim. We're able to make some progress with our books, just get your very first ad on the market.
There are a couple of things I'm going to tell you exactly what to do. I'm not even saying don't even buy Publisher Rocket when you're first getting started. Just set up your very first ad, that's your goal.
You're going to set it up to automatic targeting. Let Google or Amazon take care of the keyword selection, make it automatic, and set a bid price to 15 cents. Allowing them to do bids that are lower than 15 cents that will help us make as much money as possible without spending too much.
Pumping Money Through Ads
Set your daily spend into $1 and then simply make sure you have one ad per book type. So one for your Kindle book and one for your paperback book. Since we don't want that data mixing together as we do our ads.
We don't even need to add special text to sell the ad itself. In other words, the text that we would normally type in there that people would see, they would just see our cover for our book and that would be the thing. The number of reviews that we've got and what those reviews look like.
The second thing is and this is a key rule almost a secret level thing that I use which is if any ad loses $2, you shut the entire thing down. We simply are not willing to run ads that lose money. But then what about ads that are losing a little bit of money or breaking even? Should I keep those ads going?
The answer to that is an absolute yes. The goal for me personally is to keep every single ad that is breaking even or making me money continuing to go. Because the fact is many people see those books and come back at a later time. The ad will not be accredited for having made the sale.
In addition, I have books that sell on other platforms and also even my Audible books. For all of I think 160 of them are in audiobook format on Audible. And those books sales that are made through those will simply not show up.
Or my hardback books through Lulu, there's a whole series of book sales that would happen. That would not be accredited to me as a sale from my ads. Yet they are something you're going to want to pay attention to and keep going.
Because you're going to see your money go up. Just turn off all your ads and watch what happens. Everything starts to crash and burn quickly and the cool part of it is as we're pumping money into these ads, they start to make more sales.
Which causes Amazon to continue to market them for free to people in the search results and other results. Because Amazon doesn't want to market a book that's making no sales. They want to market books that are already making sales and will make them more money.
Why should they waste space and search results on Amazon for books that make no sales? Your ads, they're driving sales those sales are putting you in a better position and they're causing Amazon to raise the positioning of your books that are showing up on Amazon.
These are some key secrets when it comes to Amazon ads. The most important is just to get an ad on the market. That's why today's question for you is have you started running ads on Amazon? If you have, write "Yes" below in the comments.
