They say everything can be learned and that skills can be developed. Find out if it's true when it comes to learning how to self publish on Amazon Kindle.

Today's question has three answers. The third answer is a secret that you are going to want to stick around for.

Because it will show you how it would be like when you're getting into publishing on Amazon Kindle. How perfectionism can kill your progress?

So, the question that was sent in today is, can anyone learn how to self publish on Amazon Kindle? Now, this is an outstanding question because it's probably coming from someone who's not quite sure.

You can figure this out. Maybe, it's for somebody who's way advanced. You know you would be thinking that publishing on Amazon Kindle requires a lot of skills.

Maybe a lot of money, maybe a lot of time, a whole series of things. But you're not sure if you are going to be able to do it. That is probably the reason you're asking this question today.

Let's get into it. When I first started self-publishing, I went through a series of books that showed me exactly how. A step-by-step guide on how to get publishing on Kindle in particular.

It was like the book was I think 21 Days To Publishing On Your First Kindle Book, something along those lines. I then discovered that yes, you can publish a book in only a couple of weeks.

It doesn't have to be so difficult when publishing on Amazon Kindle. The skill set required is amazingly low to get them out there.

It's A Learning Process

Now, that doesn't mean they are going to sell. For example, if you didn't choose the right market which I use Kindle Spy to find the right market. That's the tool I used for that.

And if you aren't running ads against it which I use Publisher Rocket. So, I use both of these tools to find keywords for the ads. That combination gives me the ability to make sure that I'm writing in the correct market.

Then, you're getting the cover and all of these sorts of things. So, there is a series of things to get the book to sell. In terms of just getting the book published on Kindle, does it have to be so hard?

That is the question. Can anyone learn how to self publish on Amazon Kindle? Here are the answers.

Yes, anyone can learn it even children can learn how to do it. It's so simple but most people try to make it very difficult. Whereas, I understand that self-publishing can be very easy.

It can be easy now. You can upload a Word document you have written directly. You can use the free covers they have on Kindle Direct Publishing to publish your book immediately.

Now, don't get me wrong, it will not be of high-quality. Perhaps, if you do it this way, you will not make any sales. You're going to get terrible reviews which is a bad idea in one sense.

But in another sense, this also can be an excellent idea and let me get into our secret answer of the day. We start by publishing anything.

Just getting something onto the market is a great idea because we don't learn until we do. Sometimes, the learning process itself requires us to just start making progress and putting anything out there.

Once we have our book posted, then we can make incremental improvements. Slowly improving the quality of the book that we have on the market. And when we have it out there, then the quality goes up.

We start running ads against it. We get better covers on it and we can change the title. All of these things are flexible within Kindle Direct Publishing.

Improve Your Books As You Go

Our biggest enemy is perfectionism. The idea that we can't publish a book until it's perfect the first time. All are edited, the cover and the description are fantastic.

We need to know that it's going to sell a lot of copies before we even put it on the market. Remember of the population, 80% of people would like to put a book on the market.

But very few or a very small percentage which I think is less than 1% actually end up creating a book where there is no reason they shouldn't. Because the process is so simple but you have to start one step at a time.

Do not allow, as they say, sometimes the perfect is the enemy. The great is the enemy of the good so it's better to get something good or even okay or even poor out onto the market. Then improve upon it.

The beauty with Kindle Direct Publishing with Amazon is that you can actually get those books onto the market and then slowly improve the quality as you go. And each book will be better than previous books.

You can go back and fix previous books as I have done over the years. To make sure their quality increases over time.

And after some time, you'll start seeing the sales come in. But we don't learn everything at the same time and we slowly improve.

So, can anyone learn how to self publish on Amazon Kindle? I don't know. What have you found?
