Yes, you can use Payoneer or Wise to get paid by KDP, as long as the provider is on KDP’s list of participating payment providers and KDP has not told you that only bank accounts are allowed. Payoneer and Wise were both on that list on 03-Nov-26. This post explains the rule, what the “not able to receive KDP payments” message means, and what to do if you see it.
What changed for payment providers on KDP?
KDP now has a Payment Service Provider (PSP) program. A payment service provider is a company such as Payoneer or Wise that gives you a bank account number without being a bank in your country. Per KDP’s help page, since 01-Aug-26 KDP has stopped making payments to accounts that use a provider that is not in the program. It has also stopped paying accounts that have not finished identity checks (KDP calls these know-your-customer, or KYC, checks) with a participating provider.
If you use a participating provider, or an account opened directly with a deposit-taking bank, you are fine. KDP’s help page says that if the Getting Paid section of your account shows no bank account error message, no action is required, and it emails you if you need to do something. If you would rather sell outside Amazon, read can writers sell ebooks directly through a Facebook store?
Which providers are on the list?
KDP keeps the list on its own help page, and it changes. On 03-Nov-26 it included well-known names such as Payoneer, Wise, Airwallex, WorldFirst, PingPong and Razorpay, along with many others. I am not ranking them or recommending one. If you use a provider I have not named, open KDP’s list of participating providers and search for it before you rely on it.
What does “not able to receive KDP payments” mean?
It means KDP will not pay to the account you entered. The usual reason is that the provider is not in the program, or that you have not finished the provider’s identity checks. KDP’s page says that if you get a message that your bank account is not eligible, you must add a different one.
Do not ignore it. KDP says royalties may be held until you update to an eligible account, and that if you are asked to move to a deposit-taking bank account and don’t, you won’t be able to receive royalty payments or publish on KDP.
What should I do if KDP rejects my account?
Work through these steps in order.
- Read the email or message in full. It tells you whether KDP wants a provider that is on the list or a deposit-taking bank account.
- Check your provider against KDP’s list. If it is there, finish the provider’s identity checks. If it is not, ask the provider whether it plans to join, but don’t wait on the answer.
- Choose an eligible option. That is a participating provider with an account in the currency you need, or an account opened directly with a deposit-taking bank. KDP’s payment service provider page describes this.
- Add the new account in KDP. Under Getting Paid, choose Add a bank account. KDP does not let you edit an existing account, so you add a new one and delete the old one. KDP’s page on adding or updating a bank account has the screens.
- Make the details match. KDP says payments may not be deposited if the account holder name or address does not match your bank’s records.
- Allow time. KDP says a provider’s identity result can take up to 24 hours to show. If your provider has not completed the checks within 45 days of KDP’s email, KDP says you can’t receive royalties to that account or publish until you finish or switch to a deposit-taking bank.
Is Payoneer or Wise a good choice?
Both are accepted by KDP on 03-Nov-26, so the answer to the question in the title is yes. Whether either suits you depends on your country, the currency you need and the fees, which I am not comparing here. Read each provider’s own pages for that. For how KDP pays and when, see how authors get paid. For the whole setup from outside the US, including your ID, tax profile and ISBN, see how to self-publish on Amazon from outside the US.
What about tax on my royalties?
Moving to a different account does not change your tax. I can’t give tax advice. Start with how self-publishers handle finances, then check KDP’s tax pages and talk to a tax adviser who knows the rules where you live.

Frequently asked questions
Is Payoneer accepted by KDP?
Yes. Payoneer is on KDP's list of participating payment service providers. You still need to finish the provider's identity checks, and the list can change, so read KDP's page before you rely on it.
Is Wise accepted by KDP?
Yes. Wise is on the same list on 03-Nov-26. The same conditions apply: finish the provider's checks, and check KDP's page for changes.
What if my provider is not on the list?
KDP tells you to switch to an eligible option as soon as possible. That means a participating provider, or an account opened directly with a deposit-taking bank. You can also ask your provider whether it plans to join.
How long does it take for KDP to see my provider's identity check?
KDP says the result can take up to 24 hours to appear. If it does not, contact your provider first, then KDP support.
Do I owe tax on the money KDP pays me?
That depends on where you live. I can't give tax advice. KDP's tax pages and a tax adviser who knows your country are the right places to look.
