software for self publishing books

There is a lot of software that you can choose from on the market. Find out below what is the best software for self publishing books.

Capturing Best Software

Today's question has three answers. The third answer is one you're going to want to stick around for. Because it will explain to you how you can do all of your self-publishing works with only free software and services.

You're going to want to stick around for that. The question that was sent to me today was, what is the best software for self publishing books? Now, this is an excellent question.

When you first start getting publishing. You begin to realize something true, which is that there is a lot of software on the market that you can choose from. Besides, there are services you can buy online to help you with your self-publishing journey.

But which ones are the correct ones to use? You don't want to waste money or time. Some are very confusing and complicated and others are simple.

Some of them will give you the ability to do publisher books in different formats or as others do not make that easy. And I'm going to explore all of these different options today for you.

But before we get into the answers, check out my free Self-Publishing Secrets Checklist that will show you exactly how to self-publish and get started.

When I first started, I was following the instructions of several books that were showing exactly how to publish your book onto Kindle. I had no idea I was spending.

I think I was spending $40 to get it. Like some of the artwork, I would use on the cover. I had no idea how exactly to do that, how to get the cover produced properly.

I ordered my first couple covers and I was amazed. They were terrible, but they seemed okay to me. I then purchased additional programs to do the thing.

One of them was Scribner's. But when I discovered it didn't do the table of contents, later on, moved over to Jutoh.

As I continued my journey, I began to realize if I wanted to make more money, I was going to need to invest more money into the entire project.

I also hired people in Upwork to do my covers. Only to discover Fiverr produced equally good covers. If you know which designer to go with. And you see there were several things where I would go a little bit.

I use some money and discover this wasn't going to work. I also paid a lot of money for editing. Later to find out that I could use some automated programs to do editing.

Some of them were too advanced. Like it was a pro writer or something. One of the ones I had used costs a lot of money.

It was so complicated, I found five million mistakes or you know things that could be changed in your book. And you would use so much time doing that. When in reality, it wasn't contributing to getting a
higher quality book.

Software Selection

It was just wasting my time. That it could be used on producing more books. To provide more value to my readers. That was a little bit of my story.

So what is the best software for self publishing books? Let's get into the answers. There are a lot of different software products and services that can be used.

I'm going to tell you the basics of the ones that I suggest as the paid ones for our first part before we get to the secret answer of the day. The first one is for formatting your books. Without question, the program Jutoh is the way to go.

It gives you everything you're going to need for your books. Check it out so you can purchase the Jutoh program. It does not only gives you the ability to create your table of contents.

You can put pictures in your books. It will also ensure that all the pages are updated. The hyperlinks click and link between the book.

You can have footnotes. All sorts of stuff it's all handled in the program. You just click export then you'll get your Mobi file for Kindle.

You can also export to ePub if you want to do it on Smashwords. Through all of the other services like Kobo and all of the other ones. You can do it to a PDF that you can sell directly on sites like Fiverr or other places or directly on your website.

You can also take that PDF and create your paperback version for Amazon Print, KDP Print, Ingram Spark, or Lulu. They will all use the same PDF file that this program Jutoh was able to produce.

The next one is for your keywords and titles. You're going to want to make sure your books are using keywords or an initially popular. And for that, we use Kindle Spy to go about doing that.

It is a fantastic program that will show you how many books are on each topic. On each search word, type of topic, how competitive they are, and how many they're selling. Just look at the number in the top hundred thousand sales rank for those books on Kindle Spy.

Then, you have Publisher Rocket that will give you the ability when running your ads to put in your keywords. And it will find thousands of related keywords that will work great for your ads.

When you put these lists in there, you'll discover quickly that for your books it's a very very powerful way to ensure that the people who were looking for books that are related to yours will find yours.

Getting Free Services

And often these keywords have titles or names you've never even heard of. But they're related and so they can cost almost nothing. Somebody, verily they simply see it the first time they click and buy.

And you've got yourself a sale. You can be making upwards of 90% revenue off of these books often using these ads. So, Publisher Rocket is the one that I used.

Now, let's get to the secret answer of the day. And that is our third answer. It is that all of this can be done for free.

That's right! You don't have to pay anything if you don't want to. Now, you're not going to make as much money.

But when you first get started, you can use Word or Libre Office Writer to put it into a format that you can upload directly into your Kindle profile. So you can have your Kindle book right on in there.

Also, you can use Canva. It even has templates for Kindle covers right for your Kindle covers. Which also can be used of course for your Print covers.

That will give you the ability to get the cover exactly formatted. It's in the rightful format. It looks perfect and you can upload it.

It's not as good as you can do if you pay, which I use Fiverr for the covers. Check that out, that's the exact person I use to make amazing covers on Fiverr for about $20 apiece.

You can do it for free on Canva. You'll make more sales again if you pay the paid versions. But I understand what it's like in the beginning.

When I first got started, I didn't have any money for this hobby at all. It was just a side thing and so but after a while, you start pulling in money.

And I realize I can make even more money if I invest a little money in the tools that I'm using if they are the correct tools.

So the final thing is that you can do your keywords. You can just figure out keywords that are related. You can look at the books that are the best-selling.

And that gives you everything you're going to need to know to get started making money by selling books on self-publishing. So what is the best software for self publishing books?
