What Are The Best Tips For Self Publishing A Book?

There are a lot of authors out there who are finding the best tips that they can apply when doing self-publishing. Find out more about self-publishing and what are the best tips for self publishing a book.

Today's question has three answers and you're going to want to stick around. Because the third answer is a secret as to how self-publishers who are insanely successful stay motivated through tough times?

There is one secret to this issue. So, let's get into it. Today's question is what are the best tips for self publishing a book?

Now, this is an excellent question. When we first start getting self-publishing, we realize that we're going to want to make sure that we're doing things the best way possible. There's a whole series of things we're going to keep
in mind.

One is time, how quickly we're going to be able to produce the book if ever. The second one is the quality of the book that we're going to be putting out. Is it going to be a high enough quality so that it's not going to be embarrassing to us when it hits the market?

Something that we can be proud of. It will be that we're happy to have our name associated with it. The third thing is we're going to have the money necessary to do the project, I mean obviously, maybe the tools that we're going to be using are going to be costing an awful lot of money.

So, we're going to have to consider whether or not we have the resources to go about even making this successful in the first place. This is what we are going to explore today. But before we get into the answers, check out my absolutely free Self-Publishing Checklist.

Let's start a little bit with my story. When I first got started, I also was trying to increase sales. I got my book onto the market and I managed to self-publish it.

There were a lot of mistakes with it. But I was looking and wondering where exactly can I find ways to increase the sales? That was the problem I was looking at.

Then the problem I discovered was that there are just too many tips coming from very different directions. Different people have tried different things. Let me just give you a couple here.

One is that what if I just make my book free and post it to other authors? Because after all, maybe they would then buy it and become enthusiastic followers of mine. But then you discover that other authors are not interested in reading your book.

It's a little bit sad but for a lot of people, they don't really fully realize that. So you need to understand that when you put your book onto the market. You're not marketing to other authors, you're marketing to readers and authors are also readers.

Take One Step At A Time

But this is a terrible strategy. Also just because you get a lot of free downloads of your book, does not mean that you're going to be making a lot of sales. I thought "Wow I was getting thousands of downloads of my book".

But that doesn't mean they're actually reading the book. A lot of people get stuff for free. They put so little value in it. They don't even bother to use the time to read it.

Many of them will give one-star reviews even if your book is a high-quality book. They will still hit it too hard. These were the sort of tips, incorrect tips I was getting from some people who simply they themselves had not actually succeeded with the tips that they were giving me.

The next one is that I began to feel a little bit overwhelm. How am I ever going to get these things to sell more copies when all of the tips that I'm trying are not working? That was very disappointing for me.

But then I was listening to a podcast on the internet. Business Mastery was the name of the podcast. They commented that you should be doing one thing at a time.

You need to make sure that you celebrate even your tiniest of wins. This is one of the key motivating facts that I began to realize. That I shouldn't be comparing myself to other authors.

I feel that I'm not making it as a self-published author. That sensation of comparing it with other authors. As opposed to saying "No" I'm getting an increase in the number of sales. I'm getting on my books and I'm getting more books onto the market through that slow process.

And then celebrating these wins as they came. That helped me to understand what was necessary to actually win the game in the long run. When we're playing the game, you need to enjoy the journey because, in reality, it's just a marathon.

But let's get into the answers regarding the tips here. Well, the first one is to take one step at a time don't try to rush through the whole process of self-publishing. Or if you've got your book out there, don't try to rush through the process of trying to get an infinite number of sales on it.

Rather, try one tip at a time. So that might be running or getting up your ads which is an important thing to do on Amazon. Get your ads running so we're able to start bringing and putting our books into the hands of our readers.

Choose A Right Tool

We can at least get our books in front of our readers' eyes. Many readers have to see your cover like seven times before they would consider actually buying your book. The second tip is to get the right tools.

Once you can afford them, I use a lot of different tools. These are the tools that have helped my books to sell as many copies. They've sold somewhere in the range of 40 copies of the books.

I've bought a lot of tools that never made me any money back. So, I want to save you the time and the trouble of trying to go through a lot of different tools. Different ways of purchasing different things if you just check out below each of my videos on my channel, you can find my affiliate links to the tools that I am using.

No matter what you're struggling with on the self-publishing front, we've got you covered with the tools that I have found. That has been fantastic at making the journey of high-quality books in a very short time at the lowest amount possible. Because that's a very important one too to keep in mind.
